The Department of Romance Studies at Cornell offers the opportunity for students of any department to take courses in Portuguese language, Brazilian, Portuguese, and Lusophone literatures and cultures. Students interested in Latin American studies usually find this opportunity especially attractive if their interests include Brazil. This is an exciting moment for Portuguese and Brazilian Studies at Cornell, as we are expanding our program and we have established a new minor. Meanwhile, courses in Portuguese count towards either a Spanish or Latin American studies minor or major. Students interested in literature and cultural studies should contact Pedro Erber.
