Romance Studies is an academic field that encompasses the languages, literatures, history, and political cultures of those areas where Romance languages have been and still are spoken. Rather than merely being a department of one language area, our strength lies in the dynamic interplay of these languages. Faculty in Romance Studies at Cornell continue in a long line of those who value both an interdisciplinary perspective as well as the common ground shared among multiple Romance languages and literatures across the centuries.
